Welcome to the 2009 – 2010 school year.

I am excited about being your child’s teacher this year. I am sure we will have a fantastic school year.

This year will feature a little different schedule from previous school years. I will teach your children Science and Social Studies along with Calendar Math and Reading and Computer. Mrs. Wladkowski will be responsible for the Math series, while Mr. Eddy will teach English Language Arts. In addition students will have specialists for Art, Music, and Physical Education. This new schedule will allow teachers to specialize in the specific areas in which they teach. I think the students will enjoy this change and will benefit from it both socially and academically.

Here are just a few notes for the upcoming school year.

Please send in some class supplies such as Kleenex, paper towels, Clorox wipes to keep our classroom clean and healthy.
I suggest every student bring in a container of hand sanitizer for their personal use during the day. We are going to stress cleanliness and good hygiene with regards to the H1N1 virus. (more info to follow)
My night back will be Tuesday if you feel your student would like extra help.
Let me know if there are any problems arise or special concerns you may have, as I will do the same.
Homework should be 45 – 60 minutes per night. There should never be a case where students spend more than that on homework. If an issue arises, let me know and we will take care of the problem.
I will post class news and homework on a daily basis on the school web site.
Gym is on Fridays. Please have your students dress appropriately.
Please contact the school secretary with any messages for your student during the school day. She will pass the message along to our class.
Attendance and arrival at school on time is important to your child’s academic performance.
